The Dhaka Metropolitan Police detective branch arrested former state minister for disaster management and relief Enamur Rahman raiding the capital’s Basundhara Residential Area on Sunday night.
Confirming the matter, DMP DB joint commissioner for North Rabiul Islam said that he was arrested at about 11:00pm on Sunday in the Basundhara area.
‘He was arrested in a murder case of July uprising filed with the Mirpur Model Police Station. Enam is also accused in several cases filed with the Savar Model Police Station,’ Rabiul told New Age.
He said that he was in DB custody at Mintoo Road.
Enamur was elected as lawmaker for Dhaka-19 constituency with Awami League party tickets in the general elections held in 2014 and 2018.
He was defeated by an independent candidate in the general elections held on January 7, 2024.
